Ten life decisions I’ve made

November 1, 2015 by Johan

Ten life decisions I’ve made

I’ve been thinking of ten ideas for two weeks now thanks to James Altucher
How To Become An Idea Machine. It’s not been easy. But it gets easier. And some days ago I challenged a coworker to list ten of his life changing decisions. Of course I had to make my own.

A) Move your body

I used to be fat and sit inside playing computer games. Wishing I had an more exciting life and a girl to fuck. I  did that for a long time. A new friend found me and helped me just by taking walks with me once a week. Just once. It wasn’t certain I would go out with him and his dog. But he showed up for me. And I got out for a walk. Later he would take me to the gym. I went a couple of times. But didn’t stick to it. I wasn’t ready for the change. Years later I’ve had a enough of myself. I said “I will go to the gym at least three times every week and run every day off.” And I did. It only took me two months of doing this while stop eating proccesed food and snacks to lose a lot of weight. I said to myself “this is what I’m going to do however I feel.” Just do this every day and every week. The results came without thinking about them. Though it wasn’t easy. Some days I had headache. Or I was tired. Or crying. I still went and followed my plan. Just by showing up every day.

Try it yourself if you aren’t already. You will feel proud of your body. Others will see it. Feel it. Try lots of different things to find something you like. And go do it every week.

B) Downloading others brains, to your brain

I rarely read growing up. I enjoyed other things. Somewhere I heard about fantasy. Maybe from my cousin.  I enjoyed the tales of a man being powerful out on adventure. So I began reading that. I loved the idea of being powerful. Being bold and charismatic. I read that for several years before I started reading other things. About three years ago I began to understand how powerful reading is. This is thoughts another man have written down. And share his whole life experience into this single work. He might have built his passion for ten years or longer. Writing all his knowledge in to something you can read in a week (or day). You know that scene from “The Matrix” where Neo downloads martial arts to his brain? Reading books is downloading others brains, to your brain. And practicing your reading skills will let you download it faster and retain more. I felt bad about my reading for a long time. Said to myself I was reading to slow. And put off reading things because it took to much time. To much effort. I didn’t know I could read faster. But I started searching about it. It turned out to be a simple problem to fix. I was slow because I was reading the words out loud in my head. Once I started to pace myself with my hand I got less distracted. More focused. And began to read faster.

>> The basics of speed reading.

  • Use your hand as a pacer over the words.
  • Focus softly with your eyes above your fingers.
  • Move it a bit faster then your usual reading rate.
  • Move at a constant rate without stopping or backtracking.
  • Don’t pronounce the words in your head.
  • Practice it always.

C) Write your thoughts

It helps you remember more. You learn more by taking notes. It feels good. Everyone I’ve met says they would like to write more. I tell them just do it. If you have “writers block”, write that you have it. Write it again, and again. Write it until you get bored and write about how bored you are. Continue writing every thought you have, whatever it is. If you feel stressed or happy. Write it. Even if you feel like it’s useless drivel. Write it. The more you write, the more you learn. When I started out journaling it was making boring lists of my day. I still wrote it. After awhile I began to see how boring it was. And how dull it was writing it. Then I began to write more in story form. To make it more fun for me to read it. And I began to develop story telling. And that helped me becoming a better story teller talking with friends. Because I had a better understanding now of what is something exciting to read. And I just realized this is rather boring to read. But that’s fine. I’ll make it better next time.
If you are running a loop in your head about something. Write it down. Whenever I have a thought that keeps coming back. I write it down. Often it goes away like magic. Or you begin to form an idea how to solve it. You should try it.

D) Sell your TV and video games.

I used to be a huge game addict (still is). Mostly because I didn’t know how to be social. And I didn’t have much support system at home to develop it. At seventeen something I really began to loathe my situation. And years later I began to get my health in order by quitting games. Started working out and eating better.  Quitting my computer games have made a huge difference in my life. It challenged myself to be bored. To free time for my other passions in life.  I wouldn’t have all these awesome mentors in my life, from the books I read or blogs I follow. I wouldn’t have this blog.
I have to watch myself. When I feel overwhelmed, tired or uncertain. My brain tells me “ah Johan just sit down and play for awhile. It will be fun.” No it won’t be. And jokes on you brain, I’ve sold my console and only got a laptop now!
Before I sold my games I had to struggle not playing games. It was a struggle. I began to sell off my games that I didn’t use. Then I sold my favorites and kept the party games for friends. Eventually I sold everything. The minute I left the store I had felt a huge weight lift from my shoulders. Now the struggle was gone. It felt great and scary. Because now I didn’t have the comfort of coming home after work, to kill a few hours with video games.
It challenges you to be bored. We are rarely bored today. Actually we are constantly bored and pick up our phone whenever we are. Trying to excite our brain with the latest Facebook feed, likes and cat pictures. Try this. Stop yourself whenever you feel like picking up your phone. Just take a deep breath.
See what happens if you sell your TV and video games. Let yourself be bored for awhile. Listen to your brain after it’s done complaining. You will be rewarded by new thoughts and new experiences.

E) Eating consciously.

We all want to be nice to animals. They should have a fair life. So lets treat them fair by letting them live a decent life, then slaughter them. How fair is life being in a farm or factory waiting to die?
And we describe in detail what kind of meat we like and what parts of it is tasty. How to cook it. What parts to throw away. I’ve done it.
I became vegan to improve the environment. Example, raise a pig and you eat it, you have food for 50 days. That’s sounds like a lot you might say. But if you instead eat the food yourself. You now have food for 500 days. Think on it. At first I was okay that we have animals in factory’s. But two months later I began to doubt it. Now I’m disgusted by it. Because you can live a great life with lots of great vegetable foods.

F) A part of all you earn, is yours to keep.

Two years ago I was lost and didn’t know what to do and hated my job. Today I have the savings to quit my job if I want to. That is such a huge difference to being stuck in a job with no exit. Seven years ago I read “The road to wealth: First $100.000 in seven years” (Vägen till ekonomisk frihet: Första miljonen om sju år). At the time I struggled to save while working a job and having a girlfriend. I failed. Two years ago I had no savings after eight years of working. Last year I was into building my stock portfolio earning 8% a year. But realized how limited that is. That it would take me over 20 years to reach financial independence at my current savings rate. At a dull job.
This year my focus is creating value for others. In multiple ways. To be able to free my time. Spend it how I want to spend it. Not be bound by a single income and workplace.

How did I manage to save more now then before? Broke up and moved out from my girlfriend. Live by myself to find my values again. Sold my TV. Watching less commercial. On TV they have awesome shows with action, big cars, million of dollars, young babes. During the commercial they show various things to buy. That creates a need in your body. That is unconscious but very real. Recently I’ve had this feeling of less worth if I see a big star. Or a nice car. It’s stupid, but there it is.
Sell your TV and see what happens.

G) Quit watching porn every day.

I used to feel girls owed me sex. While being in bad relationship. That wasn’t so healthy.
It’s just like playing video games. Ask yourself why you watch/play. Then figure out if this is what you truly want. Probably you want more out of life. But don’t know how to achieve it. Or you begin to understand what you want. But it’s scary doing new things you’ve never done before. “If you want something you’ve never had. You have to do things you’ve never done.”  When I was 18 I was living at home. Playing computer games and watching other guys fuck girls on my tiny screens. I was so sick of this but kept on playing because I didn’t know how to be that guy. I knew I had to do something but was so stuck in my routine. My room. It was really hard to get out of. But not changing was worse, I had to do it. I found why I needed to change. And knew what I wanted to do instead. I began a habit I could do every day that brought me one step closer. I wrote it down and keep it with me when it gets rough. And just repeat my habit everyday.

Now I’m out of the bad relationship and rarely watch porn. It’s though getting out of it but worth it. It will give you more energy in everything you do. You will be surprised how much passion you will regain. You begin to stand taller. You begin to seek eye contact with others. You begin to see all the options you have or about to have. You begin to notice girls when your out. Many of them are just waiting for a confident guy like yourself. Waiting to be asked out on coffee right now. Try it.

H) Give something back.

I love helping others. I love improving others life. It makes me feel like I’ve made a difference. It could be anything from cooking a nice dinner for friends. Coming up with new ideas together. Helping them with projects they have. Helping them connect with others.
Start with helping your family or friends with your passion. Help your neighbors or join a group. If your passion doesn’t have a group, start it. Create a blog or YouTube channel. Write and film what you want to share. It will make you feel great helping others. And you will improve your own life by getting a deeper understanding of your passion.

I) Sleep

For the past fifteen years I’ve averaged about five hours of sleep. Why? Because I’ve neglected it. Now I’ve changed my evening habits. Exercise after work. Dinner at six. Write and read after dinner. Close my computer at least 30 minutes before eight. By putting my sleep first I’ve noticed what a difference it is to get four or eight hours of sleep. Even six hours is low now. It’s easier to come up with new ideas when you are well rested.

J) End bad relationships

I was in a really bad relationship for years. It started out great. With lots of sex and time for my passions. But somewhere I lost my self and began to give to much off myself. Giving up my passions. Doing stuff for her expecting things in return. We became friends who lived together. Would cuddle in bed but nothing more. It was really bad. Since we broke up I’ve done more things for my own enjoyment. And I feel much better.

K) Take action every day towards your passions

I write every day. Some days I write a lot. Other days I make a list and journal some of my day. But every day something. I know by experience that whenever I do some small thing every day. I feel better. Just one thing everyday helps building my habit. I make it my priority to do this one thing. And then I’m free to do other things. And by making it small It’s easy to get it done. And if I feel like it, I will continue doing it.
Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the things I have to learn. For example when I really just wanted to get a good body. A girl. Earn money while I sleep. It sounds simple (or very hard). But usually it follows with ten other little small things that needs to learned and maintained. Have faith that it will get easier. Every little thing you learn compounds to a grander knowledge. Learning how to prepare healthy meals follows you for the rest of your life. With it you can cook for your family, friends. Open a business. With it brings dedication. That you will accomplish your goal every day.

Try to Challenge yourself and do what is uncomfortable to reach your goal  everyday.
Some day you will realize that you now live your dream.

Take responsibility of your life

September 3, 2015 by Johan

Take responsibility of your life

Sunset

If you are dissatisfied with an area of your life, know that it doesn’t have to be this way.

Know that you are capable of change.

It’s rather simple once you’ve started.

All it takes to change, is simply to do what needs doing.

Once you’ve started with your task you start to enjoy it pretty quickly and glad to have begun it.

Just commit five minutes of your time doing this thing that you are procrastinating.

Your mood will improve greatly and you will want to continue working on your task once you’ve started it.

Commit one hour every day to improve your life.

Choose a single area of your life that you feel is lacking.

Ask yourself:

  • Where would you like to be?
  • Where are you now?
  • How are you going to achieve it?
  • Take action!

Set aside one hour every day. Maybe it doesn’t seem like much right now, and you are so far away from your “goal” that one hour seems futile. Give it time. Immerse yourself in the process of  self development and work on it every day and one day not far from now, you will look back and see how far you’ve come.

Once you’ve gone on a couple of days you will begin to feel proud of yourself and feel more joy that you are actively taking steps every day to improve your situation. You are taking responsibility for your life and saying “I want this, and I’m working to achieve this goal.” Remember to use this hour to work on your goal in a cheerful and relaxed state of mind. Know that every day brings you one step closer to your new reality and it feels great. You are excited to work on this goal and start to think on it more and more.

You begin to see new things you never noticed before. New opportunities that previously passed you by, but now you see them clearly. You become happier and people will notice.

You gain more confidence and take pride in your whole life. It creates a ripple effect of other areas of your life. Improve one area, and your other areas rises by your confidence and new skills you derive from your current goal.

My own personal experience is when I’m actively working on my self development like giving value to others, my confidence is greatly improved. And it affects my other areas of life immediately. I have more energy in the gym with better focus on my workout. I’m happier at work, more relaxed, and work more effectively. Girls are drawn to me and start conversations with me just looking at them.

Just 20 minutes ago I was thinking of whether I would set a goal of writing 500 words or write for one hour and decided for 500 words. I reached it in 15 minutes. That’s how easy it is once you commit to your goal.

Take responsibility of your life.

Choose one area you wish to improve.

Ask yourself why you want to improve.

Commit to a system with daily habit of working towards your goal one hour every day.

If you feel like working longer after the hour is up, go ahead.

Once started, you feel great working towards your goal.

That great feeling will create ripples in all areas of your life.

Enjoy that feeling and be here right now, live in this moment.

Victory is near, when you follow your habit every day.

If you set a task, follow it through

August 13, 2015 by Johan

If you set a task, follow it through

“If you set a task, follow it through.”

What do you think of this statement?

If you set a task, follow it through. It carries a certain weight to the words that a task you want to achieve, must be considered deeply before you affirm it and take action.

Picture of flowers with focus on the back end

Set a task and focus on the end goal.

If you would just set a hundred different tasks and try to do them all, it’s likely that you will fail or do them poorly. You have not considered the consequence of what responsibilities you need to do to accomplish them. And it would be hard to accomplish them all.

Set a task carefully and consider all the obligations that follows, for you to achieve it.

Example: Say that you would like to have a great physique. What is a great physique to you?

  • What is your goal? Do you want to compete, deadlift three times your body weight, have a six pack, or just lose some weight?
  • How much time are you willing and need to spend on it? When you want to get a body that you are proud of, it often comes with new habits you might never done or thought about before.
  • You might have to learn more recipes and become a better chef while making a habit of eating better foods with less meat and more greens.
  • Being in the gym or outdoors following a workout routine with increased difficulty by weights or leverage with your own body making the exercise progressively tougher.
  • To make more time for your new lifestyle you might have to cut down on Netflix and give up your video games.
  • It might affect your current social life. Maybe your friends don’t like it and to achieve your goal you must decide to spend less time with them. Don’t worry if so, you will find new great friends in the gym to share your interest with.

It might sound like a lot of things to improve to achieve your task, but know, that it’s worth it.

Work on each separate skill and it comes together to a new interesting lifestyle with new knowledge that will help you through your life and increase your happiness. You will meet new people and make new friends.

This is why you need to keep your goals simple and few, if you want to achieve them.

At first it might be uncomfortable to break free from your old habits and end up procrastinating, but the more hours you put in, the easier it gets. You might break your new habit in the beginning, don’t worry. Just keep doing your task and reaffirm in your mind why you are doing it. Soon you will start to feel an itch when you think of skipping it, and get a really good feeling when you pushed through and did it!

You will get more energy.

You will become happier and keep a good mood through the whole day, because you are following your desire and what you want to do. You might even get a little angry, because the hours are not enough right now to work as much as you want to on your goal. Stay calm, and keep working on your desire. Soon you will find ways to have more time working on your goals, and how to reduce your distractions.

It becomes easier to relax and enjoy that book you’ve been planing to read, or spend time with your family because you have no weight hanging over you of “that thing” you must do. It’s already done for today. Therefore easier to enjoy your leisure time.

You will begin to form new ideas that will help you by bettering other areas of your life. By building new habits you start to expand your mind and knowledge of things you previously had no thought of.

Example: A couple of years ago my sister spoke to me about living foods and stop eating animals. My first reaction was “What is she talking about, living foods? She knows I exercise a lot and need my proteins to continue to get stronger.”

But she opened my mind and thoughts in a new direction I’ve never had. I began to think of the environment and whether I would become a vegetarian or vegan. Later I decided to live a vegan lifestyle and see if it was possible. And it was.

It was hard in the beginning, but given time, it became a natural part of my lifestyle. At first I only thought about our earth, how to limit our waste of resources. But just a few months in, I began to think of the ethics of keeping and slaughtering animals when there is no need for it. The thought came to me as a surprise, as when I started this journey it was only about the environment.

On your path to your desire, your biggest obstacle is yourself.

One of the biggest obstacles is self doubt. Doubting whether this will make a difference, or give value to others people life’s. Ignore it and follow your habit every day with the knowledge that you are on the path of success. Know that you are already successful by following your desire in life.

When you believe in yourself and your desire, nothing can stand in your way. You are happy to work long hours with no breaks. Food and eating is something that you forget about or an annoyance. Remember to set aside time to eat properly, to have strength to continue with your work tomorrow.

A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits

The belief of others hold little importance, in fact they mostly hinder you by pushing negative thoughts or doubts in your mind. Listen to some of it, and ignore most of them. While you have faith in your work and habits you do every day, to achieve your goal and enjoy them fully.

Make time

Only way to gain success, is to make time for your desire.

How do you make time? Say no, to things not related to your goals.

That means less netflix following your favorite tv show, less video games with your friends online, less time out partying and waking up with a headache and strong hangover.

What you gain in return, is worth more then any hours playing video games. And after you have reached your goal you are welcome to play as much as you want. As you accumulate more success, overcome your many difficult struggles and achieve things you never thought would be possible in your wildest dreams. You just might not pickup the controller again. Because now you have 10 other things you would rather do with your life.

I used to play a lot of video games. At times they were fun and challenged my ability to learn them and overcome their massive difficulty. And other times I played them because I was bored. Bored with the game, bored of my life, and still kept on playing. I knew everything about them and how to achieve my goals within them. I could use a level 1 character with daggers and given time, I knew I would complete the game. And yet I kept playing them because I was afraid to leave my comfort zone and do what I really wished to do.

I’ve learned to never quit what’s uncomfortable.

How I might procrastinate doing something and the thought of change is scary at times. Without change, we conform and get bored. Without change and goals we get depressed thinking what happened with our life as we look back through the years. It’s okay to fail, just do it again with your new found knowledge.

When you ask yourself, what’s next?

You probably know what your next step is. You are just scared of doing it, and what others might think of it. Ignore that feeling and do it anyway. Step out of your comfort zone and do what’s uncomfortable.

To achieve your desire once you’ve found it, you need to make systems and habits. Create a lifestyle around them and see that they always get done. A small step every day, and over time you’ve taken a thousand steps without noticing it. Until one day you realize how far you’ve come.

Whether it’s helping others, building a great body, earning money, creating great relationships, it all comes down to your habits and systems that you’ve put in place.

With the habit you do every day and having your goal in front of you. there is no other way then success.

“But it drains me and all I want to do is relax after work.”

Embrace the suck.

Keep working every day and give it your best every time.

If it drains you, you probably haven’t gotten good at it yet. Once you’ve done your new habit for a while you will begin to notice progress, and that progress will inspire you to keep on going. Soon you will look forward to building your skill and working on your goal, that you can’t wait to finish your work to get home and one step closer to your goal.

It might be a struggle first to step out of your comfort zone. just start doing 5 minutes of habit of your desire, it will shift your mindset from “uh, I don’t even know where to start”, to “Wow! I’m working on this little step right now and begin to see where it will take me”. If not yet, go another 5 minutes, and another until you start to see the fun.

As you keep on doing what you want, and building that habit of working and thinking on it every day. You start to form more and new ideas. Every thing you do seem to come together in little spurts of clarity as you keep on expanding your comfort zone. It might come to you while you are doing something completely else. Last couples of days I’ve gotten at least one great new insight of something every time I’ve taken a long cold shower.

Give your task serious thought.

Is this something you want to achieve?

Is this something you can make enough time for?

Set a big goal that you’ve dreamed of long to achieve.

Deconstruct it with small goals on the way, how you will achieve your big goal.

Go do it!

30 day challenge to gain focus and energy

July 31, 2015 by Johan

30 day challenge to gain focus and energy

What do you want to accomplish right now?

What actions do you need to take to achieve your goal?

Are you willing to commit to the goals?

Notepad with text:30 day challenge! Write 2000 words, take 3 pictures for my blog and approach 5 girls every day.

30 day challenge: Write 2000 words, take 3 pictures for my blog and approach 5 girls every day. No time for that.

If you really want to get good at something it’s simple. Not easy, but simple.

Just do this one thing that you have to work on, every day.

Spend xx minutes on it every day and given time you will have success.

Whatever you want to achieve, habit and time is always the most important to have massive success.

Myself I want to be a writer, so I write every day.

These last couples of days I’ve written every day. Maybe 600-1600 words a day and reading the rest of my time. Doing some errands around town approaching some girls and had an instant coffee date.
something that that struck me yesterday when I was out for a walk, was how my mind is focused and ready for action. I could easily start talking with everyone. A regular day off work, if I haven’t done much I might feel sluggish and would take effort to go out and go do x. I would be more inside my own head.

With the habit of creating and producing I was feeling great, and still do.

And it came to me now just as I was about to shower and thinking whether I would start with a warm shower and end with cold, or go full cold immediately.  It was an easy choice as I put it to full blast on cold. And then my thought suddenly came back to me, how all these small habits off getting outside of your comfort zone adds up and makes you think in whole new different ways.

Just one second ago if I would have take the easy way and went with a warm shower, would I be writing this for you now? Maybe, certainly not with these thoughts I have now.

The more you produce and work, the more energy you get.

How could that be?

When you create you are active.

When you consume you are passive.

What do I mean by consume?

Picture of Nintendo 64 with games and procrastination

Nintendo 64 with games and procrastination.

To consume is using or watching others work. Like TV shows, magazines, video games and porn. It puts your mind to autopilot and makes at least me sluggish if I spend to much time on it.

Your sexual energy is your key to success, and you drain it if you bust a nut every time you watch porn.

How much is to much time? Depending on the subject I start to drop off after 45 minutes and lose my focus. And at that point it gets harder to break out of. Keep in mind: Depending of how busy you are, that 45 minutes could be your only free time to work on your goal today.

By consuming 45 minutes on a busy day, you are standing still. For every day you are standing still, the harder you have to work to get started again.

  • When you are creating and active it tends to have a snowball effect.

Example: Your biggest hurdle is getting of your couch and doing the dishes. It’s really not that great doing the dishes. But you know it will feel good when you’ve done it.

Action: You get up from the couch and do the dishes. Great! It wasn’t that hard, really quite simple and now your in such a good mood that you will take out the trash when you’ve just finished the dishes and that project that is due? You will start it immediately!

If you would have stayed in your couch for another 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours and suddenly its time to brush your teeth and go to bed. You would probably feel bad that you still haven’t done the dishes and know how you will feel tomorrow as you get home from work and need to prepare dinner in a messy kitchen and your project that is due is not done. But you did it.

The simple act of starting your first task was quite hard at first, but quite simple once you started. And now you are doing a second and third task with a cheerful attitude.

What can you create?

You know what you want to create. You just fear to take the leap if you haven’t started yet.

If you really don’t know yet. Look at your lifestyle.

Are you living your dream?

If you don’t have a direction for your life and lifestyle, it’s hard to set a 30 day challenge because you need a vision for your life. Just doing x “because” gives you less reason to complete it. Begin first imagine your dream life.

Comment below or write in a journal what your goals are for this 30 day challenge.

Its important that you write your goals down.

Make a drawing in your journal or  on the cover with your goals. Really think of your goals, what are they? Now imagine how you can take that goal and make it into a small image you draw or type out. Hold this image before you and see your goal and what steps you are taking to reach it. Draw it every day to remind yourself of your goal.

Now do your habit for 30 days.

Example: Got an guitar hanging on the wall that you want to learn how to play, or get better at?

Why do you want to play the guitar? Maybe it’s a special song you want to learn or play with your friends. Write down why.

Now write down how you will learn it and break it down in to small steps.

Action: Get up, take it down and practice your first task on your list for 5 minutes. After your 5 minutes are up, continue if you want to.

Change is gradual

Decide on a 30 day challenge.

Take small steps

Start with 5 minutes every day

This feels good and you probably continue past your 5 minutes

Now you start to build momentum by doing this task every day and add some time every day.

The simple habit of practice at least 5 minutes every day builds over time.

Once you’ve reached a tipping point of small habits every day, now it’s hard for you to not do this habit. It’s become a part of your life.

Resist the urge of instant gratification and work on your desire.

If you lose your self on your 30 day challenge, go 30 more days.

Success won’t come over night, but these small habits build up and one day you will wake up and be successful.

Tell me what is your 30 day challenge?

Learn how to be calm at all times with your breathing

July 29, 2015 by Johan

Learn how to be calm at all times with your breathing
Picture of a flock of birds in fligth

Flock of birds in flight

Have you ever felt things spinning out of control? That chaos when you can’t control what’s happening.

There is a simple technique to control your heartbeat at a steady pace and to keep calm at all times.

It’s being present in the moment. Its about letting go of your worry of tomorrow or the next hour. Worry of your past. Even happiness to come and happiness in the past. There is only one moment to live, and that is now. Most of us obsess over all kinds of things, and with it comes anxiety or stress. When we could just as easily be at ease and cheerful. Below are some simple techniques to use if you want to gain back the controls of your thoughts.

Being present is focusing only on this breath you breathe out in, and only on this breath you breathe out now, while listening to your body and your surroundings.

Thinking only on your single breath entering your body, and your single breath leaving your body.

This breath is light and deep, fills your lungs completely while activating your diaphragm making your stomach fill as you breathe. And as you breathe, you smile.

After awhile this breathing is almost soundless and you continue to make it deep.

If something comes to your mind, just acknowledge it and go back to focus on your breathing.

If something happy comes to your mind, just acknowledge it and go back to focus on your breathing.

If something sad comes to your mind, just acknowledge it and go back to focus on your breathing.

With this breath I still my body and breathe in

With this breath I still my body and breathe out

If it feels heavy to breath like this, stop and relax, while you go back to your regular breathing and keep your focus on listening to your breath. Don’t over strain yourself. Just like lifting you start easy.

Now practice this for 5 minutes while remembering that “with this breath I still my body and breathe in”, “With this breath I still my body and breathe out”.

Turn off your screen and sit straight. If you are in a chair, sit up straight without resting your back on it.

Close your eyes, smile and do this for 5 minutes and be present only listening to your breath.

If some thoughts come to you just acknowledge that “I just thought ____” and go back to your breathing.

How do you feel now? What changed a couple of breaths ago?

Now there are some simple techniques like the one a above and several others to use every day.

If you feel stressed out and need a break remember, “I feel calm and peaceful, calm and peaceful” as you breathe in, “I feel calm and peaceful, calm and peaceful” as you breathe out.

Whenever you need a break remember to smile and take a calm deep breath “I feel calm and peaceful, calm and peaceful” as you breathe in and “I feel calm and peaceful, calm and peaceful” as you breathe out. Go about your task in a calm cheerful way and remember your breathing.

If you need to lift your spirits and gain more energy, remember to smile and take deep calming breaths when you think “I feel strong and happy, strong and happy” as you breathe in, and “I feel strong and happy, strong and happy” as you breathe out.

Try it out, and remember to do it often. And when you forgot what you just were doing, that’s fine. Just remember to smile while taking a calm breath as you breath in, and a calm breath as you breathe out.

Stop procrastinating and follow your desire!

Stop procrastinating and follow your desire!
Picture of the docks where I'm typing this post

If you are stuck in a rut, if possible do your desire outside. I’m writing this at the docks.

It’s easy to get stuck in “I just got home and I’ll just browse/play ___ to relax and then I’ll start with my desire when I’ve got some time to rest from my busy day.”

Before you know it one hour has passed and now you need to sleep if you want to feel well rested for tomorrow. And now comes the guilt because we’ve wasted our precious time on something that didn’t bring us closer to our desire and soon we need to be at work doing something most of us don’t enjoy doing.

It doesn’t have to be like this. You know what you want to do.

Do it immediately as you come home!

Do it for five minutes and after that you are free to do whatever, or keep working on your desire.

watch 5 minutes of time

5 minutes of desire

Use your first five minutes to make a plan

  1. You need: 1 pen, 1 paper.
  2. Write down what you want to do and why.
  3. Write down what the goal of this habit is and how often you will practice it.
  4. Now read it aloud.
  5. Now do this habit for five minutes.

Good. Now read your note aloud again and do it everytime you get home and before you go to bed. Make it your mission to do this for 30 days and increase your time on your desire by 1 minute each time you do it.

If you did not successfully achieve your desire to follow your habit in 30 days, start again and do it for 30 more days!

Let us know what your desire is and how you will achieve it
